We’re hosting a bin sale, where artists can submit work that is backed by foam core and wrapped in plastic for collectors to flip through and purchase. We encourage you to submit artwork and/or come out and support Austin artists by purchasing work from local printmakers. (To make this event even better, Drive By Press will be in attendance. So, at a minimum, come as a spectator!) 

Cost to Participate:
1-5 pieces, $10
6-10 pieces, $20 (you'll need to add $10 in "Donation" field when paying) 
Contemporary Print show applicants, $5 for up to 10 pieces. Contact us at printaustin@gmail.com for discount code. 

Should your bin work sell, we'll take a 20% commission.

How to Participate:
1. Press green Participate button on lower right. 
2. Make a payment to PrintAustin/Bin Fest using a debit or credit card. 
3. You will need to enter your personal information. No artist statement is needed and no image upload is necessary. 
4. You will receive an email after payment with details on how to enter your print information. 
5. You will need to log in your pieces (title, price, etc–images of work not required) electronically by midnight January 16 using WPA’s system for labels and inventory purposes. We will print your labels, you just bring your prints.

Drop Off:

January 18 is the art drop off date from 4-6 pm at Canopy, Building 1, Studio 218.

Work needs to be backed by foam core and either placed in a plastic baggie, or wrapped in cellophane. Check out this post on how to prepare your prints.

After you log in your bin work through this site, we’ll create labels for you that we’ll have you attach to the back of your work during drop off.

When & Where:
Bin Fest will be held January 19 from 12-6 pm at Big Medium Gallery at Canopy.

Should you make any sales, we’ll send you a check for your work minus the 20% commission within 2 weeks of Bin Fest. We will be collecting and reporting sales tax.

Unsold Work:
Pick up is immediately after Bin Fest, January 19, from 6-7 PM at Big Medium Gallery at Canopy.

Who is Eligible?

Open to all.

Work Accepted

All printmaking techniques.
  • Artist must submit shrink-wrapped or cellophane wrapped prints with foam core backing for bins. Bin work must be labeled on the back with artist name, title, and price--we will provide labels for you upon delivery. 
  • Digital prints must be combined with a traditional printmaking technique.
  • Out -of-town submissions possible but artist must physically drop off and pick up work during designated drop-off and pick up times, or have a representative do it for them. 

Important Deadlines

Enter bin work details  All work must be entered electronically by January 16. 
Drop off work/Finalize bill  January 18 between 4-6 PM at Canopy, Bldg. 1, Studio 218
no late drop offs accepted

Take down/Pick up work  January 19 between 6-7 PM
You must pick up your work or make necessary arrangements. WPA is not responsible for lost or damaged work after pick-up.

Fees & Obligations

  • Participating artists are expected to attend the opening reception if possible. 
  • WPA takes a 20% commission on all bin work sold during the exhibition.

How do I sign up for this PrintAustin?

The deadline to signup has passed. Deadline for Entry: 1/16/2014.

How do I withdrawal from this PrintAustin?

If you are a member click the "Withdrawal from Event" button in the "Participate" box on the right of this screen. If you are not a member please send an email to info@womenprintmakers.com to withdrawal from this event.

How do I submit my work?

  • After you are signed up for this event you will see a new "Submit Your Work" button in the "Participate" section on the right of this screen (you must be logged in). Click on this button.
  • Select the pieces from your portfolio that you would like to submit.
  • If your piece has not been added to your portfolio use the link at the bottom of the page "Click here to add a piece to your portfolio" and follow the on-screen instructions.
  • After you are signed up for this event you will need to log into the site using your email address and zip code as the password.
  • After you are logged in you will see an "Add a Piece" button in the "Participate" section on the right of this screen. Click on this button.
  • Fill out the form for each piece you would like to submit.
