Bone Black Gallery announces its second annual Paper Jam exhibition juried by Huntington Art Prize recipient Gary Uribe. Paper Jam is available for viewing during our normal studio hours, Tuesdays from 10-1, Thursdays from 6-9 and Saturday afternoons. We will be having a reception for the show on Friday April 22nd from 7-9pm. Deadline: Sunday, February 28th, 2015, at 11:59pm Exhibition Dates: March 17th-April 24th Juror: Gary Uribe instructs in printmaking at the University of Texas at Arlington. Eligibility: Open to all artists 18 and older. Submissions must be original works on paper, including but not limited to, drawing, watercolor, ink, digital, intaglio, lithographic, photographic, relief, serigraphic, monotype and stencil processes. Works combining printmaking with hand work are especially encouraged. Reproductions of pre-existing works are not eligible. All submitted works must be no larger than 30x22” . Display: Bone Black Gallery has a partnership with Wexel Art and uses their display systems. Works accepted into Paper Jam II should be sent to the gallery unframed and will be prepared for display here. Works Accepted: Results of the selection process will be emailed to all entrants the first week of March. Each print selected for exhibition must be received by the Bone Black Print Studio and Gallery no later than March 14th, 2016. Delivery instructions for shipment will accompany notification of acceptance. All works of art must be shipped in reusable containers and delivered by hand or commercial carrier directly to the forthcoming delivery address. Bone Black Print Studio and Gallery will not be responsible for damage to, loss or deterioration of any work while in transit. Artist is responsible for costs of shipping. Return shipping label is to be included with work. Bone Black Studio and Gallery has the right to reject any work that does not meet quality standards for the exhibit, or is not identical to work juried from digital images. Images: Each artist may submit up to three works, represented in a digital format (jpeg preferred) with a resolution of a minimum of 300 dpi at 4 x 5 inches or 1200 x 1500 pixels. By entering this exhibition each artist grants consent for the use of submitted images for reproduction in print and online for publicity and for educational purposes. Entry Fee: A $30 (nonrefundable) entry fee permits each artist to submit up to three works on paper. Artist understands application fee does not guarantee acceptance into the exhibition and is non refundable. Sales: The sale of work in the exhibition will be promoted. A commission of 40% will be retained from the sale price. Liability: All work will be handled with the utmost care. However, Bone Black Print Studio and Gallery will not be responsible for loss or damage. Artist is responsible for all insurance needs for their work. The artist-applicant does hereby release, forever discharge, and hold harmless Bone Black Print Studio and Gallery and Women Printmakers of Austin of and from all actions, suits, damages, or claims whatsoever arising from any loss theft, or damage to any property of the undersigned while in the possession or supervision of the exhibition, its agents, representatives or employees and hereby consents to enforcement of all Paper Jam exhibition rules and conditions of the exhibition. The applicant considers this application a commitment to exhibit the work accepted and understands and agrees to abide by the policies outlined in this prospectus. The applicant agrees that images submitted for jurying are representative of wholly original works by the applicant to be displayed at Bone Black Print Studio and Gallery, if accepted.
